Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for your interest in working in our schools and with the students of Pulaski County. To help ensure the highest safety of our students, faculty and staff, background screens for volunteers are required. Please refer to Board Policy GCD R. 

The School Board Office pays for the report.

The school you would like to volunteer for will assist you with this process if you have any questions.

Secure Volunteer – AEGIS/BIB (Background Investigation Bureau) screening.

To start, click here to complete and submit an online screening application with Secure Volunteer – AEGIS/BIB. This is a Civil/Criminal, Sex Offender, and Other Public Records search. 

You will receive an email notification once your request to be a volunteer is accepted. This is not the notification that you are approved to volunteer.

After your background report(s) is received from AEGIS/BIB, you will receive an email notification from AEGIS/BIB that will contain your volunteer card if you are cleared to volunteer, or a notification that you Did Not Meet the Requirements to become a volunteer. You would then contact the school’s principal for additional information.

If you are approved and a card is not attached, please call AEGIS at 704-439-3900 (PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE SCHOOL OR THE SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE).

You are ready to volunteer! Your volunteer screenings are valid for 2 years (expiration on your ID card). Only one (1) card is needed to volunteer at any school in the Pulaski County District. 

Please note: Once your card expires you will need to complete this process again to receive a new ID card.
