Pulaski County Public Schools and Pulaski County High School would like to congratulate Emma Jane Tickle on being named our September Senior of the Month. Emma is the daughter of Kim and Derek Tickle of Dublin.
Emma has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Agriculture Program throughout her high school career, excelling in nearly every available course, including Small Animal Care, Veterinary Science, Equine Science, Animal Systems, Fisheries and Wildlife, and Applied Agricultural Concepts. Her academic excellence in these subjects reflects her deep passion for the field.
Her involvement with FFA has been equally remarkable. Over the past four years, Emma has not only been an active member but has also held significant leadership roles. As an FFA Officer for the past three years, including her tenure as PCHS FFA President last year and her current role as Student Advisor, Emma has effectively guided her peers and spearheaded numerous activities and initiatives. Her leadership has been instrumental in PCHS FFA earning the prestigious National Chapter Award for four consecutive years.
Emma's contributions extend beyond organizational achievements. She has played a key role in organizing community service events, educational workshops, and leadership training through FFA. Her commitment to agricultural education is further demonstrated through her active participation in Ag Day and Agricultural Literacy Day, where she has engaged with elementary students to promote agricultural awareness.
In addition to her FFA involvement, Emma has diligently worked on her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project, accumulating over 280 hours of dedicated work. Her SAE project encompasses both FFA-related activities and the care of her horses on her farm, highlighting her hands-on experience and dedication to the agricultural field.
Emma’s multifaceted involvement in agriculture and her leadership in FFA exemplify her dedication, hard work, and passion for the industry, setting a high standard for future leaders in the field.
Upon graduation Emma plans to attend Virginia Tech majoring in their agri-business program. During her free time she enjoys singing at her church, River of Life, writing music and spending time with her horse, Jenny.
