Tuesday, Pulaski County Public Schools recognized several individuals who have reached the point of retirement. This includes teachers, bus drivers, custodians, para educators, reading specialists, and media specialists/librarians.

 

After opening comments from PCPS Superintendent Mr. Robert Graham and PCPS School Board Chair Mr. Joshua Taylor, the principals from each school and the leaders from each department came to the podium to introduce their retiring employees.

 

From Dublin Elementary School, Dr. Elizabeth Webb recognized Media Specialist/Librarian Mrs. Jennifer Mooney, who has been with the school system for 2.5 years; Mrs. Jane Moore, who has been with School Nutrition for 21 years; and Mrs. Vickie Akers, a Special Education Para who retired last year after 27 years.

 

From Critzer Elementary, Assistant Principal Mrs. Sarah Reid recognized Media Specialist/Librarian Mr. Brian Compton, who has been with the school for 14 years; Book Keeper Mrs. Terri Pratt, who has been with the school for 19.5 years; and Mr. Wayne Taylor, who has been a Bus Driver for 26.5 years.

 

From Riverlawn Elementary School, Principal Mrs. Kim Sink recognized Teacher Mrs. Rhodora Compton, who has been with the school for 20 years; and Teacher Mrs. Melissa Hunt, who is retiring after 25 years.

 

From Snowville Elementary School, Principal Mrs. Amy Shrewsbury recognized Reading Specialist Mrs. Carolyn O’Dell, who has been with Snowville Elementary for 32 years.rd 3

 

From Pulaski County Middle School, Principal Mrs. Rebecah Smith recognized Teacher Mrs. Shelley Bird, who is retiring after 25.5 years; and Teacher Mrs. Stefanie Meyer, who retired last year after 29 years.

 

From the PCPS Transportation Department, Mr. Troy Barkley recognized Bus Driver Mrs. Cinda Reynolds, who is retiring after 22.5 years; and Bus Driver Mr. Tom Whisman, who retired last year after 14 years.

 

From the PCPS Operations Department, Mr. Jess Shull recognized Head Custodian Mr. Wayne Taylor, who is retiring after 26.5 years of service.

 

Each retiring member received a personalized memento of their time with Pulaski County Public Schools.
