Dr. Michelle Greene, a proud graduate of Auburn High School, has been appointed as the new principal at Riverlawn Elementary School within the Pulaski County Public School District. Dr. Greene brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having dedicated 17 years to the field of education.

"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Michelle Greene to lead Riverlawn Elementary School! She has proven herself as a champion for students, teachers and community. Her expertise on literacy will help move the county forward with the Virginia Literacy Act" Dr. Tara Grant, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction said.

Throughout her career, Dr. Greene has held various positions, including a classroom teacher at Auburn Elementary School, a reading specialist at Margaret Beeks Elementary School, and an instructional coach at Falling Branch and Harding Avenue Elementary School. She also served as an assistant principal at Christiansburg Primary School, and principal at McHarg Elementary School.Dr. Michelle Greene

 

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in both Reading and Educational Leadership, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, all earned from Radford University, Dr. Greene exemplifies a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

 

As a committed advocate for literacy, Dr. Greene firmly believes in providing every child with the essential skill of reading to unlock the world around them. She views education as the cornerstone of opportunity and is dedicated to laying a solid foundation for student success.

Excited to integrate herself into the Riverlawn school community, Dr. Greene is eager to uphold the tradition of excellence in education and collaborate with exceptional educators, staff, and students. She is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals who share her vision for student achievement.

 

Dr. Michelle Greene brings a blend of expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm to her new role as principal of Riverlawn Elementary School, poised to make a positive impact on the school community and nurture a culture of learning and growth.

 

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Greene finds joy in spending quality time with her husband, Nathan, their son, Tipton, and three boxers, Libby, Axl, and Moto. Family and friends hold a special place in her heart, and she values the moments shared with loved ones.

 

Dr. Greene takes over the position from Mrs. Kimberly Sink, who is taking over the position of Instructional Coordinator at the School Board Office.

 

Dr. Greene will assume her new role July 1, 2024.
