A familiar face will be back at Critzer Elementary School soon, as Rachel Parker has been appointed as the newest assistant principal for the Critters.
“I am very excited to be rejoining the Critzer family in this role and look forward to working with everyone this school year,” Parker said.
A 2001 graduate of Centreville High School in Clifton, Virginia, Parker has a wide variety of educational experience. After obtaining a dual BS from Virginia Tech in Psychology and Sociology, she earned an MS from California University of Pennsylvania in Exercise Science, along with coursework in Instructional Leadership and Supervision from Radford University.

Next, she worked as a middle school math teacher at Dublin Middle School for five years, then at Pulaski County Middle School for one year. She served as a Health and Physical Education Teacher for two years at Critzer, then took on a different challenge.
She is currently finishing up her first year serving as the Program and Activities Manager for Pulaski County Parks and Recreation and her 11th year as the Summer Camp Director. She has also been serving as a Title 1 Tutor at CES.
Ms. Parker has a 12-year-old daughter, Hayden, who attends Pulaski County Middle School.
“I would like to thank my previous administrators and directors for their support and encouragement in pursuing this leadership position,” she said. “I hope to prove myself worthy.”
Parker is set to begin her new role August 1, 2024.
