Dr. Roxanne Souma, a proud graduate of Pulaski County High School, has been appointed as an assistant principal at her alma mater. Her deep-rooted connection to the PCPS school community and extensive 19-year dedication to education make her a valuable addition to the team.
Dr. Souma's career has been marked by a steady progression, starting as a classroom history teacher at Pulaski County High School and eventually becoming the Coordinator of Secondary Education with Pulaski County Public Schools.
Dr. Souma's academic journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and professional development. She holds two Bachelor’s Degrees from Virginia Tech, in both History and Theatre Arts, and a Master’s Degree from Radford University in Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, she has an Educational Specialist’s Degree and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, both from Arkansas State University.
As an advocate for fostering strong relationships within our community, Dr. Souma is dedicated to supporting the efforts of PCHS to create an environment where every student, teacher, and staff member feels valued and empowered. By prioritizing relationship-building, Dr. Souma aims to promote collaboration, enhance well-being, and inspire a love for learning that will drive our students toward academic success and personal growth.
Excited to reintegrate into the PCHS school community where her career began, Dr. Souma is eager to uphold the tradition of excellence in education. She is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals who share her vision for student achievement.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Souma finds joy in spending quality time with her husband, Michael, their son, Roland, and their daughter, Margaux, especially while traveling.
