The Pulaski County Middle School volleyball team rolled to 8-1 on the season Tuesday evening. The Cougar spikers defeated Carroll County, 25-6, 25-6.
Serving was the key for the Cougars as Carroll County struggled to receive serve.
In the first contest, Bailey Viars connected on 9-of-10 of her serves, while Sandy Santos was 6-for-6, and Ainsley Vaughan 3-for-4 to lead the way for the Cougars. Jagger Davis notched two hits and Devae Carter one as Vaughan and Ryleigh Dean teamed for three assists.
In game two, Vaughan turned in an 8-for-8 performance from the service line and Dean was 7-for-7. Davis finished 5-for-6, and Viars 3-for-4.
Natalie Kinder had the Cougars’ only hit with Vaughan getting the assist.
In the extra game, PCMS fell 8-15 against a team consisting of several Carroll County starters.
Adalyn Arnold went 3-for-3 from the service line and Madison Akers was 2-for-2. Kaya Harriman and Aundrea Stump each recorded one hit for the Cougars with Arnold and Maddie Rinehardt each with one assist. Rinehardt and Stump were the top passers.
The Cougars will return home Monday to host Scott Memorial.
